Downloading and Decompressing Input/Output

Example Files

From the preceeding page you may download a compressed archive directly to your hard drive. Archives contain examples of multimode inputs and outputs and are compatible with the most commonly used operating systems. The size of each archive is approximately 200 K. After extraction, the 70 or so files all together take up 1.2 MB of disk space.

Eventually we hope to make self-extracting files available at this site, but for now you will need to use one of the following programs to expand the compressed files:

Stuffit Expander (Mac)

Macintosh users may extract the files with StuffIt Expander software, downloadable for free on the World Wide Web at http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/index.html.

(If you are having trouble using the software, see their frequently asked questions" page at http://www.aladdinsys.com/faqs/mexpfaqs.html).

WinZip (Windows)

Windows users may extract the files using a utility called WinZip, downloadable for free on the World Wide Web at http://www.winzip.com.

(If you hare having trouble using the software, see their "frequently asked questions" page at http://www.winzip.com/faq.htm).

UNIX

UNIX users may download files which were compressed using the gzip utility.
