Personal Information
I graduated with a MSc degree in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology from University of Westminster, UK in 2004 with my project thesis on "Elicitation of Bacitracin in Bacillus subtilis" under the supervision of Dr Tajalli Keshavarz. After graduating I worked as a Scientist (2005-2008) in the R&D dept of Biocon Ltd, India on a project of "Isolation and screening of secondary metabolites from myxobacteria". Later I was moved to the project of "Purification and characterization of antibodies, insulin analogues and small molecules".
In Aug of 2008 I joined the Group of Dr Kelley Moremen in Complex carbohydrate research center at University of Georgia, Athens and investigated the methods for synthesizing different clones for expression of Siayltransferase and glycosyltransferases.
Since November 2009 I have been working in Dr Brian Dyer's lab on Recombinant site specific labeling of proteins with IR probes where we are performing expression of labeled protein in auxotrophic strains of E.coli, followed by the protein purification using FPLC and characterization through IR.
