Integrated Chemistry : Summer at Emory University
PBL Training Team : Dr. Preetha Ram and Mr. Mike McCormick
Have you ever wondered how it would be to face a class of eager learners? Kids that want to learn? Problem based learning is a pedagogy that can help motivate your students to learn and have fun while they do it!
Dr. Preetha Ram and her team at Emory University have offered workshops to Atlanta Public Schoos to train high school teachers to use this exciting pedagogy in their classroom. Using an example of Water Quality monitoring, they train teachers to get their students involved in a project that will have an impact on their lives. You can join others in the Atlanta area that are already discovering the benefits of using Water Quality to teach science.
Don't want to do Water Quality? This workshop will also help you get started on designing your own PBL problems. You will also be trained in the use of computers, library resources, internet searching and advanced chemistry instruments
