Undergraduate Research
The opportunity of participating in research as an undergraduate is one of the many advantages offered by Emory University. Research provides an undergraduate student with a unique opportunity to broaden the knowledge obtained in courses, to learn about different methods of investigation, and to develop creativity in solving an original problem.
Undergraduates interested in collaborating with a research group in Chemistry are encouraged to schedule appointments with faculty members in the area of the student’s interest, in order to inquire about the availability of a suitable project at the undergraduate level. The responsibilities of the undergraduate researcher will depend entirely on the research group selected. The department encourages students planning on majoring in Chemistry to participate in research for at least two semesters with the same research advisor in Chemistry.
